What to say
"Let's tap each sound with a finger, then slide them together."
You want to help. You need a clear place to start.
Whether your child needs extra practice or a new challenge, knowing where to start can feel overwhelming. Sunny Studies brings together your observations, available school feedback, and short skill checks when needed to create a manageable plan for learning at home.
How it works
- 1
Tell me about your child.
Share your child’s strengths, interests, challenges, and your goals for learning at home. School or teacher feedback is welcome, but never required.
- 2
Find the right starting point.
After reviewing your intake, I may ask you to guide your child through a short skill check. Simple directions help you record what your child can do and where support may help.
- 3
Receive your personalized plan.
Explore your child’s Learning Snapshot and four-week roadmap, with clear goals, ready-to-use teaching scripts, examples, and activities chosen for their needs.
- 4
Practice together. Notice progress.
Follow the teaching steps, share what you notice, and record your child’s progress. Educator feedback helps you know when to keep practicing, offer more support, or take the next step.
What's included

A Four-Week Roadmap

Parent Teaching Guides
Step-by-step mini-lessons with ready-to-use parent scripts, worked examples, and guidance for practicing together before your child tries independently.
Purposeful Practice
Meaningful activities selected for your child’s goals—from games and everyday learning to reading, writing, hands-on investigations, and printables.
Progress and Next Steps
Simple ways to record what your child can do, how much help they need, and what’s improving—with educator feedback and an end-of-month recommendation.
Small sessions. Clear steps.
Aim for 15–25 minutes, 3–4 times a week, adjusted to your family’s routine. Follow a simple rhythm: Understand → Teach → Practice → Check. Each session helps you introduce one idea, practice together, let your child try, and notice what’s becoming easier.
Who it is for
For families with children in kindergarten through fifth grade who want clear, practical support for learning at home. Plans focus on selected learning goals in English Language Arts and Mathematics, based on your child’s needs. Language supports are included for children learning English when appropriate. No teaching experience needed.
